Metric

Dang the metric system and Celsius sucks so much for everyday use.

It’s funny, I use the metric system when I’m talking about anything related to the military, science, or space. That’s where it’s appropriate as none of that has to do with human factors. The metric system was deliberately designed to be anti-human and it fully succeeds there!

Strength of a manual worker vs bodybuilders.

Sure, but who cares? The goal of a bodybuilder is not to be the strongest possible at everything, but to have their body appear a certain way.

Practical strength usually beats out gym-built strength, but having been comparatively weak and now strong, I’d still do better on any tasks that require strength than 99.9% of mooks off the street.

Just as those bodybuilders would. Being strong makes your entire life better, no matter what clowns like Ian Welsh claim.

Forum Up

Every single one of the forums I used on the early internet are all gone. No trace. There was some cool stuff on those that should’ve been saved. All of it should have been, really.

And the BBSes I dialed into in the mid-1980s aren’t even on the lists that claim to be “Every BBS Ever,” much less archived. All lost now.
