It’s hard to think of a person who deserves to be assassinated more than the CEO of United Healthcare.
A good, justified death. Fuck that guy.

Covidians: Lockdowns weren’t real! No one was even mildly inconvenienced by Covid restrictions anywhere in the world! It’s all lies!
Reality disagrees. Those who became mentally ill because of Covid (not the infection itself) are just angry that the political changes they wished would occur were not brought about by the pandemic. It’s sad to see.
Where’s the ICC arrest warrants for the Hamas leaders who committed the October 7 atrocity? I mean, for the ones who haven’t been blown to bits yet.
But where are those exactly?
The Covidians and anti-vaxxers are surprisingly similar. Both hold onto a vision of the world that does not comport with reality, both are convinced vaccines do not help, and both believe those living their lives normally are taking insane risks.
Doing the stupid comes in all sorts of varicolored varieties.
People like Ian Welsh who worship Putin…man, what the ever-livin’ fuck is wrong with them exactly?
Tulsi Gabbard is quite literally a Russian agent. This is not speculation. Even Russia says this.
Meanwhile on Russian state TV: Another translated clip of Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard, introduced by state TV host Vladimir Soloviev as "Our girlfriend Tulsi."
After the clip plays, one panelist asks: "Is she some sort of a Russian agent?" The host quickly replies: "Yes." pic.twitter.com/VVNGmtjavU

This is incredibly bad. And people who thought Trump was going to help Ukraine: LOL.
My manager told me I cannot move my water around.
This is primarily a Boomer thing. For some reason, Boomers — especially Boomer women — expect to experience all retail employees in a state of mute obedience, with no observable human needs or limitations. They must not sit. They must not drink. They must accept all abuse with a smile.
Why Boomer women? My guess is that they are in unhappy marriages with uncaring and uncontrollable men and this is the one area that they can exert some measure of power. Sadly, by bullying 17-year-old grocery store checkers.
There is certainly hatred there; that aspect of conservatism should not be ignored. Yes, Trump’s win was mostly concern and betrayal about inflation but this is also an aspect that is present in the diseased soul of conservatism: they don’t want anyone to have anything for “free,” especially anyone young or, even worse, young and a woman or anyone in any other category they despise.
Lest we forget, the core conservatard voter is a Fox News-infected, conspiracy-shouting, vaccine-denying, science-spurning, woman-hating, coal-rolling, homophobic dipshit.
And we should not forget that.
California was a good strategic move for us. Here, we will be insulated from most of the worst of the decline Trump will force on our nation. Not all of it by any means. But in many ways, California is kind of its own country and that benefit of insularity and size is certainly a great thing now as we go into a long bleak time of diminution and corruption.
To re-tool something Mencken allegedly said, the electorate voted for this cataclysm and they are going to get it good and hard.
No one will be spared, but being a bit protected is better than nothing.
The second coming of Trump is going to be the biggest disaster America has experienced since the Civil War. In many ways, it’ll be even worse for our allies in Asia and Eastern Europe than it will for us here in the US. I doubt Germany, even, can defend itself against Russia.
This will be a very dark time indeed.
Today is a day of despair for America. We are plunged into an anticipatory grief.
For once, I agree with Moira. Her take is basically how it will play out.
But 2024 is not 2016. It is worse. In his first term, Trumpโs incompetence was often an impediment to the worst of his agenda; no longer. Institutions, both in the government and in civil society, worked to slow or resist his program; now, many of them seem all too willing to participate, with universities and NGOs eager to launder Trumpism into respectability and the billionaire-controlled media eager to cut deals, suppress unfavorable coverage and minimize his misdeeds. And if in his first term Trumpโs impulses were sometimes mitigated by moderates and institutionalists in his administration, by now those people have all been purged. He is surrounded by incels, bigots, conspiracists and sadists, and they are much better prepared to use the organs of the state to pursue their hateful aims.
It is going to be a very, very bad four years. I expect a war with China and economic destruction, perhaps even collapse. And that might not even be the worst things that occur.
